Arbor Terrace Acworth.

Their setup is good. Their meals are in 1 hour increments which means you see the same people. All the staff greet residents by name. They check on her periodically. Response time when I have a question is usually within a half hour not 2 days later. I feel a lot more at ease with her there.

When she first moved in, I thought the staff was very caring and attentive, but as time went on and I went to see her a few months later, several of the employees had left and the new ones didn't seem so attentive. The meals weren't as good either. But I live in PA and did not get to GA very often. She has since moved to another facility to be near her step daughter. [name removed] and the step daughter feel that the new facility is much better.

Ineffective Administration/staff and Poor Food quality.

The food quality has dropped tremendously in the past few months. It's rarely edible. The administration is not trustworthy. Incorrect billing and assessments done on my mom without my knowledge. Staff lost paperwork including financial information for a while..finally found it. Some staff extremely nice others can't be trusted.

Food problems

The food is way too salty and they won't do anything about it. The run out of food all the time, too. The same issues come up every month at the resident council meeting. Some aides are very good, some are not. Don't be fooled by how nice things look.

Assisted living and memory care

This place is amazing. My mom has dementia and didn’t want to leave her house but couldn’t live alone any longer. After visiting Dogwood Forest we knew this was the right place. From our first tour with [name removed] to getting her all moved in the staff has worked hard to help her adjust. We tried to put her in assisted living but she ended up in memory care. I visited this property last year and was given the royal treatment and a very nice tour. This is, by far, one of the more glamorous properties I've ever visited with everything you need at your fingertips. [name removed] is an outstanding Director and a fabulous representation of the community. She has a natural knack for what she brings to the party. You should be very proud to have her representing your community. All the other employees I met that day were very warm and friendly as well.
