PositiveHad a tour and the Admission Nurse that I met with was very knowledgeable and did more educating with our family than we have gotten from my dad's doctor. The building was very clean. I liked the layout of the rooms. We only looked at a private room. I also like that my dad would have his own private bathroom and shower. I toured another memory that only had a shower room that all the residents had to share. They had a guy there playing the violin and the residents seemed to love it. It was very uplifting. Avalon i…

PositiveMy mom has been a resident at Avalon FW for a little over 2 years. It has been such a long and emotional journey for us. My father felt so lost when we first moved mom in., but the Director always stayed in touch with him and for the first several weeks, called him every single day with an update of how she was doing. As she got settled, my dad didn't need a call everyday, but she gave him so much peace just by communicating, and it meant the world to us. She recently passed away, and the staff, they just surrounde…

CriticalVerbal agreements are not honored or recorded. In the end, they will hold you to the letter of the contract. They also pass on to the customer their costs of using third-party marketing agencies like a Place for Mom by requiring a 90-day minimum residency. Then you are told that you shouldn't have used the agency. Communication with the corporate office is non-existent once they hook you. The cleaning services were sub-par. Meals are more like snacks. Other than that, they were great.

PositiveI would give AVALON on a scale of one to 5 being the best -just below a four- One of the reasons being is, I am having to wash his clothing and bedding to ensure things get back to his room as a set of his sheets were lost for several weeks and his bed seems to be left for weeks without being washed Also, there has been several times when a different residence has been in the common area only in a pull-up when I came to pick up my father and several hours later when I brought him back, they were still in their pul…

Criticalwe have had difficulty with communication. For example they moved our mother to a different room with out letting us till after the fact very frustrating also I called one night when it be quieter and slower. I was talking to nurse and was told they didn't have access to my mother's medication list and that I would have to call back during the day and talk with the medication tech. Not sure what the issue was but a nurse on any shift should have access to my mother record and that I have DPOA and can they can disc…

PositiveI would give 5s to all of them. I was so glad to see Mom actually eating and enjoying the company. What we like the most about the community is the way the caregivers really care for the people. They are patient, compassionate, and REALLY care for them. They don't get nasty with them, they actually talk with them!
