Critical103 year old mother waits too long for help
My 103 year old mother has been at Belmont Calabasas for over 3 years. Overall it has been and continues to be good for her. However, there are significant lapses in service, so at 103 sometimes she calls for help from an employee, and the stated policy is that person responds within 10 minutes, but the response time greatly exceeds that much too frequently. Always excuses for why that happens. This morning, my mother waited 90 minutes with no response, she then contacted my wife who called to inquire. Someone then…

There's plenty of activities and outings, staff rotates a lot, dining experience was ok - not a ton of diversity in the menu, but not bad. It's comfortable and clean.

CriticalOur family had an in person tour and we did not like Belmont, they had dark rooms. They kept wanting to talk about assisted living and avoid our questions regarding memory care. Also more expensive. It could be good for assisted living. There is a pool.

CriticalRegarding Belmont: Limited help with toilet, and dressing. We were even there several times to witness when she rang for help no one came. Shared concerns with director at least two times regarding lack of attention to meds. Said they have more of a café style to disperse meds where residents come to them. Didn't work for mom. I didn't feel the housekeeping was very good. The activities were very good. Staff was great otherwise.
