CriticalWe did not have a good experience with Bickford which caused us to transfer my dad to another facility after 2 months. Could not trust staff for his overall wellbeing: -Medical condition; had Bell's Palsy and no one contacted us. Thankfully it was not a stroke -Meals were not provided in his room as requested (thankfully I made sure he always had snacks in his apartment) I know many staff were fired when my dad left because things were happening to other clients as well.

CriticalThey eliminated most of their staff for at least the 2nd time in 6 months. That should say a lot!!! I would not recommend this facility based on our recent experience. After relocating a loved one there, serious concerns arose regarding their health, safety, and overall care. Shortly after moving in, our loved one experienced a medical issue that escalated without timely intervention. Despite visible symptoms and clear signs that something was wrong, appropriate action was not taken promptly. This ultimately resul…

They were not cleaning his room, …

CriticalThey are shorthand all the time. So it takes them awhile to answer calls. The staff are very nice and are doing what they can. It hard for one person to take care of 20 - 30 people on their own. They do the best they can.

PositiveWhat we like the most about the Bickford of West Lansing is the staff. The staff members there are very caring. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.

CriticalMy parents moved into this facility about 10 months ago. I think this facility has great potential. The building seems very nice. The individual caregivers are mostly awesome. I couldn't have asked for anything better when my mom was in hospice. My father is still a resident here. I'm now living out of state and I'm not impressed with the communication. Additionally, in the last 10 months they've had tremendous turnover in staffing at all levels. The Director had only been there a few months when my parents arrived…
