PositiveWhen I toured Brookdale, I was first asked about my mother, likes, dislikes, history, current state, etc. It was warm and conversational, putting me at ease. [removed name] provided lots of information about services and gave me a brochure with an overview and more information. We toured 2 apartments, large and medium, which were nice and homey. PositiveStaff is very nice and they check on her in her room regularly and also through the night, meals are good, not great but good. They work very hard on keeping them busy with excursions (at least once a month) family night with a meal often but gathering once a month, arts and crafts, games like bingo weekly, they listen and try to accommodate their extra requests too. They go shopping, site seeing and picnicking too. My mom is very happy.
★★★★★
PositiveBrookdale Hays has a very caring staff who work hard to make my loved one safe and comfortable. They are willing to make changes as my loved one's needs change and they communicate well with the family. I have been very impressed and I highly recommend Brookdale Hays for anyone looking for an Assisted Living facility.
★★★★★
PositiveThe community is understaffed at night. [Name removed] the DON is terrific. Good communication good follow through. They are overpriced for the staffing, it's a shame corporate medicine has turned elder care into. The meals are three a day. I think they bring a snack car around in the afternoon but it's limited with process package food. Also, drinks are limited. They really should provide coffee, tea, ice, water, and possibly diet soda like at all times.

PositiveThe value is good and for the most part it is very clean. We were impressed with the fact that there was no covid outbreaks. They have been very good about communicating with any changes, events and keeping us up to date with covid and other fun things. It is also just very cozy feeling.
