About the community
Begin a new and supportive chapter at Brookdale Mount Vernon Drive. Here, residents can find a sense of security, and purposeful memory care programming to match their personal needs. In order to provide custom care, Brookdale uses an exclusive Personalized Service System. This system ensures that residents pay for the services they need, and not a penny more. Additionally, residents are assigned to the same care associate each day, to promote familiarity and relationship-building. Whether you need assistance with bathing, managing medications, grooming, or other personal tasks, your unique needs will be met. Brookdale utilizes two key memory care programs to support residents throughout their journey here. The Clare Bridge program — an exclusive brand of dementia care — was created more than 30 years ago. It provides residents with six daily activities to promote the use of their skills. The Solace program offers an added layer of support to residents in the late stages of dementia. It provides additional time for grooming assistance, as well as sensory activities like musical opportunities and aromatherapy. Rest assured, staff members are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency. Air ionization purification technology has also been installed in community areas, to protect residents and visitors from viral infections. When you live at Brookdale Mount Vernon Drive, you can rest easy knowing your safety is top priority. Community Services and Amenities A variety of mental and physical activities are planned daily for residents to enjoy. From brain fitness programs, to dancing, walking, and more, there are stimulating and structured activities for everyone. Residents can also enjoy the many community perks, which include a beauty and barber shop, on-site postal services, and a quaint community garden and greenhouse. Last but not least, be sure to ask about the Personal Solutions program — a helpful program which can save you a trip to the store. Just submit a list of items you need, such as shampoo, conditioner, or other necessities, and the staff will obtain and deliver the items to your door at no additional cost. Living Arrangements Choose from a gracious selection of homey floor plans ranging between multiple sizes and styles. Each space is designed to resemble the coziness of home and also includes an emergency response system for added protection. If you need moving resources or assistance hanging up photos, staff members will be standing by to assist you directly. PositiveBrookdale was an awesome facility. Theresa only reason my brother was taken to another facility is because it is a VA funded facility, so it doesn't cost him anything to be at that facility. I would absolutely recommend Brookdale to everyone

CriticalMy grandmother was moved out of this place and it could not come fast enough. They would not provide assistance when needed. Her apartment was a mess. They have a fire in the building and stopped doing laundry and let it pile up. The rooms smelled. The food is horrible. they do not know how to cook. They tried to serve raw meatloaf. My grandmother got to wear she would not eat. Her medical needs were not taken care of at all. The day nurse was rude and lazy. The caregivers were always sitting in the back of the bui…

CriticalNot sure how this place received such great reviews. My mother had a terrible experience here and was there one month before we got her out. Management seemed friendly and willing to accommodate but it was a different story when we moved her in there. The first incident was when one of the nurses intentionally ran my mom's toe into the wall with her wheelchair. The second was when the same nurse ignored my mom's request to help change her when she had messed her pants in the night. We had to call the facility in t…

PositiveMy mom has dementia and our family members cared for mom after dad passed away for almost a year and a half. As her dementia progressed she needed more and more care 24/7. We were overwhelmed that’s when our journey started to find a place for mom. A place that cared a place that showed compassion a place that understood mom and her memory needs. We found that at Brookdale and so much more. Wonderful people that understand how to deal with her needs. Mom is kept busy with lots of activities to going on bus rid…

CriticalThey were AWFUL. If people can't treat the elderly with dignity, respect, and as if they are guests in their home, they have no business working in the elderly care industry.
