Brookdale is a serious Lock-Down Dementia/Alzheimer's Facility in which (1) in 2024, most patients seemed to lack minimal ability to join in activities, and (2) the staff had a difficult time controlling unacceptable behavior between patients. Brookdale White Rock

This home had kind and well intentioned staff but they are not equipped to manage the behavioral needs associated with FTD:early onset dementia. Leadership turnover led to inconsistent communication and the team demonstrated low tolerance for expected behaviors such as wandering and spacial and sensory issues. As a result, we experienced additional costs to supplement staffing support that the home was unable to provide. I found this place because of [name removed] with A Place For Mom and she knew what she was doing recommending them. As soon as I walked in the doors, I knew this was a good place- it felt like home. The community is so bright and CLEAN. The staff really attend to the residents who were all clean and happy.

This tour was extremely helpful with all that was necessary to know in order to make an educated decision with our family for our loved one.

I think Brookdale checks all the box for the kind of care I'd like my sister to have. Group activities lots of simulating care.
