About the community
Residents with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia can find specialized support through the use of deeply rooted, person-centered programming, here at Brookdale White Rock. Located in the Lake Highlands neighborhood — a historic area of Dallas — residents have access to a combination of helpful amenities both on- and off-site. Staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency, and an alert system as well as keypad entries are also in use, providing added protection. A Brookdale HealthPlus ® Community Brookdale’s unique on-site care coordination program, Brookdale HealthPlus, is designed to make life easier. The Brookdale HealthPlus Care Manager (RN) can serve as a medical advocate for residents and manage a variety of needs. The Care Manager can coordinate care with residents’ doctors and specialists, organize care transitions, schedule follow up visits, and more. Annual wellness visits, immunizations, and health screenings are also provided. Plus, residents can receive support for chronic conditions, like diabetes, high blood pressure, and congestive heart failure. In addition to monitoring, residents receive daily visual reminders and can participate in dementia-friendly programs and activities. Two memory care programs are available at Brookdale White Rock — the Clare Bridge and Solace programs. Established over 30 years ago, the Clare Bridge program is an exclusive brand of dementia care that provides residents with six planned activities each day. The Solace program is similar, but it focuses on providing additional support to residents in the later stages of dementia. It offers assistance with grooming and presents opportunities for residents to engage in sensory activities involving aromatherapy and music. Mealtimes here are also designed to feel easier and soothing. Residents sit together at the same time each day to enjoy a comfortable dining experience together. The meals are crafted with fresh ingredients and can also be converted to hand-held options for those who prefer to walk or stand while eating. Community Services and Amenities At Brookdale White Rock, residents can fill their days with activities that bring them joy, whether that includes daily coffee and discussions, animal trivia games, brain fitness classes, Bible studies, or other engaging opportunities. Plus, the community offers a variety of amenities, including a game room, an arts and crafts studio, and a beauty and barber shop. To simplify residents’ days even more, Brookdale assists with transportation and home maintenance as needed and offers concierge and postal services. Residents can also take advantage of the Personal Solutions program. This free delivery service can help save you time and energy — all you have to do is submit a list of personal items you need, such as toilet paper, toothpaste, body wash, or other necessities, and staff will deliver them privately and discreetly to your front door. Living Arrangements Enjoy your new living space, which includes a private bathroom, ample storage space, and windows for plenty of natural light. Some of the homey apartments here also feature gorgeous views of the luscious community garden. Residents are encouraged to decorate their space to their liking. PositiveBrookdale is a serious Lock-Down Dementia/Alzheimer's Facility in which (1) in 2024, most patients seemed to lack minimal ability to join in activities, and (2) the staff had a difficult time controlling unacceptable behavior between patients. If your loved one doesn't need this level of care, keep looking for a perfect match. The better you are at matching your loved one's condition to that of the majority of other patients in the facility, the better time everyone will have. If your loved one's functional ability…

Leadership turnover led to inconsistent communication and the team demonstrated low tolerance for expected behaviors such as wandering and spacial and sensory issues. As a result, we experienced additional costs to supplement staffing support that the home was unable to provide. Concerns about medication management were not addressed, and the approach leaned toward adding …

PositiveI found this place because of [name removed] with A Place For Mom and she knew what she was doing recommending them. As soon as I walked in the doors, I knew this was a good place- it felt like home. The community is so bright and CLEAN. The staff really attend to the residents who were all clean and happy.
