About Canterbury Place

Welcome to Canterbury Place, located in historic Lawrenceville—one of Pittsburgh’s oldest and most culturally rich neighborhoods, dating back to the early 19th century. As you visit this beautiful community, you will not only see but truly feel the historic significance of the building. Residents and families alike take pride in Canterbury Place’s architectural character and thoughtfully maintained furnishings, which pay tribute to the community’s long and meaningful history. Operated by Oakdale Seniors Alliance, Canterbury Place offers residents the comforts of city living while remaining peacefully tucked away from the bustle. Whether relaxing in the privacy of your apartment, enjoying the view from our open dining room, or gathering in one of our inviting sitting areas, the building’s large windows are a defining architectural feature—offering sweeping cityscape views from the comfort of home. Canterbury Place provides long term and short term stays in Personal Care, Skilled Nursing, and Secured Memory Care. In addition, we are proud to offer inpatient hospice care, ensuring compassionate support at every stage of life. We are committed to delivering high quality care while recognizing the importance of affordability, comfort, and a truly homelike environment, with 24 hour nursing support available onsite. Our goal is to help residents remain active, healthy, and independent for as long as possible, while providing assistance with daily activities such as bathing, personal hygiene, and medication management. The Canterbury Place team understands that social connection, engagement, and lifelong learning are essential to quality of life. For that reason, we offer a wide variety of daily activities designed to nurture the mind, body, and spirit of our residents—encouraging meaningful connections and a vibrant sense of community.
