I think overall it was a good experience. The small room made privacy a challenge for my uncle, but the facility was clean from what I saw, and the staff were professional and respectful throughout his stay.

My father was only here for 2 months and at first the director and staff were very responsive to the point of giving me their cell number and replying quickly when I had questions. Once they had their money on auto pay, that response became a big fat zero. When my father was taken to the hospital, there was no response from the facility, not even a check in to see how he was doing. He passed away 5 days later, and other than a "so sorry for your loss" comment the next day when we were cleaning out his room, nothing…

The facility is clean. And always decorated for the holidays. They have daily activities from bingo, crafts & movies. They try & keep them interactive. The food is bland hospital food. But it has to be. But it's not bad. The staff nurses are nice. The admin staff could get back to families a little faster.

Mom has lived at Halcyon for 8 months and has thoroughly enjoyed it even though she was reluctant to move at first. Each staff member knows more than her name. They can tell you what mom enjoys doing and talking about. Mom has made many friends. The staff and residents are warm and welcoming.
