CriticalMy experience has lots of room for improvement
I like the location. [name removed] and [name removed] are very nice. The apt is ok except for the refrigerator. It's way too small. What I don't like : There is no energy. I'm an active person. This place is bringing me down.

PositiveIn My Experience....
They don't seem to be able to keep a maintenance man. There was a new one every few weeks. The activity director is wonderful, friendly, enthusiastic, and creative. The building is a nice no frills place to live. The long halls and lack of windows made it a little dreary. It isn't set up too well for handicapped people. The apartments have the space you need if you have a wheelchair but half the rooms have tubs. The only zero entry curbs are at the front door.

There is only one ramp and that's at the front door so it's challenging to people with walkers or wheelchairs because if they live elsewhere in the building, they have to figure out how to get there equipment over the curb everywhere else. They are slow repairing things sometimes. They only have elevators at each end of the buildings so anyone living somewhere in the middle has to walk a long way to the elevator unless they can take the stairs down or up. PositiveLovely facility with community opportunities.
We needed to get our parents out of their split entry home and we were excited to find Connect 55 Plus in Shawnee. The 2 bedroom apartment was a great step down from their house. The manager and activity director are very welcoming and easy to work with. They also work at giving residents ways to connect and have a community. Our parents are adjusting fairly well.
