I chose Brookdale/Discovery Village independent living for my 87 yr old Dad based on a referral from A Place For Mom. [Name Removed] was super helpful and kind when I did the tour. She answered all my questions and kept in contact with me and reached out multiple times. We corresponded multiple times via email. I'm so glad she did! The staff has been incredibly responsive and helpful to all of my dad's needs. The front desk personnel are very friendly and welcoming. My dad says the food is good. I cannot speak to what the accommodations were prior to the renovations but the updates look great. He says there is lots to do but he is still getting settled in (only been living there one week) so he hasn't participated in many things. I think my dad will be very happy at DV.

I have been here for 6 months now. I am very happy to be here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I used Best at Home services to help with organizing my things when I moved in. I use the on-site therapy clinic and has been working out well. I enjoy the food here. I have not participated much in the activities, but I plan to.

From the beginning there is this warm and fuzzy feeling. After visiting many places and observing a cold detached feeling walking into Discovery Village was a welcomed change. It felt like a warm hug. The apartments are spacious and well taken care of with the help of a housekeeping staff twice a month. I am very grateful to my daughters for finding Discovery Village Hoffman Estates for me. They looked at a few communities for me and I was pleasantly surprised at how happy I am here. Staff is very accommodating. The concierge desk is very patient and helpful. They have many activities here that I still need to explore. I have gone to bingo and movie night which is very nice. They have a beautiful outside setting where you can sit in the sun or shade. You can walk around the pond. They have physical therapy on site…
