CriticalLoved the staff but not the corporate approach at all….. They sell you on the loads of activities and amenities…. My mom needed “assisted living” The base price( apartment rent) plus fee for medication administration was great 1 year ago…. But as a level 1 you get absolutely no assistance aside from meds being administered. If Mom needed assistance with anything else, the answer was no, we can’t do that…. She has Alzheimer’s disease and has trouble with her TV and remotes…. Nope!!! Can’t help. I was there 4 times…

PositiveWe chose Discovery Village at Sarasota Bay because they have 24 hour nursing which was very important for us. There is not someone just on call - they are present in the building at all times. The facility is also a little smaller so we felt that the care would be more intimate. The care he is receiving is high quality and the staff have all been professional. I would recommend them to others looking.
