High staff turnover - requires regular advocacy

My mother was in this facility for nearly 3 years, and was folded into their new Memory Care unit (Lilac Lane) when it first began. Over that time the entire admin team (including their Director of Nursing) turned over two to three times, meaning that it was important to keep tabs on who was who as mom's needs changed. Current Director of Nursing appears to be the most responsive and professional. Pros: small facility size, reasonable rates, good activities programs, safe outdoor courtyard for Memory Care residents…

Air conditioning knowledge needed..

On a regular basis the staff turns off the air conditioning in each resident’s room..what they don’t understand, apparently, is that it then takes twice as long to cool down as that person returns to his/her room..the ac has to work twice as hard to “catch up” to a normal temperature…it makes the cost of running it twice as much as if they just let it run..plus, the bedding and anything “cloth” is then damp…and mold grows under mattresses, in closets, etc…??

Nice and patient staff - Be Clear on your loved one's needs

Make sure your person moving in has clear needs I was just told this week, that's it's an additional charge for showering. Mom moved in in December. I wasn't aware of this . They are short staffed with aides, now. However...Everyone is extremely patient & polite!

Friendly family feel

Most of management staff has been there for many years and work as a team. Small amount of residents and a family feel.Food is excellent. Rooms on the smaller side compared to a lot of facilities but they are modern.Activities held every day including the weekends.
