Not the place for MY mom

I took her out of there after crazy price increases without notice and poor care, rude staff, and paying for services that weren't performed! Food was horrible like heated Gerber baby food, staff left patients in soiled pants for hours, there was other people's incontinence left in bags in the hall for hours and it made the whole place smell, I was charged for housekeeping and laundry that was never done. There was dried poo on my moms bathroom door and the poo in the toilet had dried as water evaporated and molded…

Brookdale is a nice-sized care facility with the feel of a home. Nicely decorated for the season. The staff were friendly, and engaged in the care of the residents. [name removed] gave me the tour after spending a good amount of time and interest learning about the person I was seeking a place for. Her level of care and knowledge is high. I felt comfortable being there, seeing the care given to the residents.

My mother’s experience at Brookdale in Sun Prairie.

My mother resided at Brookdale for 8 months. The staff residents ratio was a lot better than other places. A lot of the employees have been there for many years. It’s not a brand new fancy place, with all the bells and whistles, it’s cozy and a more homey feeling. I visited my mom everyday and enjoyed getting to know all the staff and residents, they were always friendly and welcoming to us.

[name removed]has been super helpful with the whole process and has suggested new places though?? something should be done as well about how places are allowed to bill. Elderly are usually on fixed income. If I give a budget of[amount removed]. And a place is suggested the price shouldn't increase by [fee removed]in less than a week

Knowledgeable about alzheimers

The homelike atmosphere is great, and there is a happy loving vibe. They also have shown their knowledge and understanding of the disease of Alzheimer’s. One example is how they noticed my loved one had behavior that might mean a UTI, they got the urine sample done there, sent it to his PCP clinic and antibiotics were delivered that day instead of him having to go to urgent care and be cathetered, as it was done in a previous facility. The food is good and plentiful for a hungry male resident too!

Wife with advanced Alzheimer’s had excellent care

My wife with advanced Alzheimer’s was admitted and had excellent compassionate care by all. Unable to walk, or talk, and unable to feed herself the staff (both day and night) took excellent care of her. Learning her needs, sharing the learning process with other staff, making adjustments, spending time with her even though my wife had no clue .
