About the community
Hayes Manor is a non-profit personal care home nestled in the heart of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We have been providing quality care and essential services to seniors who are 62 years of age or older for more than 128 years. It has been our mission to provide dignified housing, excellent healthcare, and essential services to older people with limited financial resources. We understand how difficult it can be to find quality assisted living at an affordable rate, and as a people-oriented community, we’ve made it our mission to put the needs of residents first and foremost in all that we do. Our Community Our community is conveniently located in the charming city of Philadelphia, which provides residents and their visiting families a never ending supply of activities, such as exploring historic sites like the Liberty Bell and Independence National Historical Park, or discovering artifacts at Philadelphia Museum of Art. Our elegant Victorian-style home is settled on 10 acres of beautiful land right next to the Bala Golf Club. On-campus, we offer a variety of amenities and services that make the comfort of senior living worthwhile. Residents can always look forward to three healthy, delicious meals daily in our sunny Terrace Dining Room, weekly barber/beautician services, weekly shopping trips, and much more! We believe that there are always opportunities, no matter where anyone is in life, to create great moments with warm people. Hayes Manor staffs compassionate and highly-trained healthcare professionals that assist residents with their daily needs. We’ve established various levels of care to support these needs, as specifically and adequately as possible. From activities of daily living to medication administration, we are here to lend a helping hand, assuring peace of mind to residents and their families. Living Hayes Manor has 53 spacious one-bedroom units that all provide an abundance of light and color, and views of gorgeous scenery. All of our units have private or semi-private bathrooms. For prospective residents searching for hospice care, we can provide that as well. We have security and staff available 24 hours a day, and we offer regular housekeeping services to ensure residents’ comfort and safety. Care Types Offered Hayes Manor is a personal care home , which in the state of Pennsylvania serves residents who do not need 24-hour nursing care, and provides food, shelter, and personal assistance to 4 or more residents. Out of all the places I went to see for my sister I am very grateful my sister is there!!! People are nice, the care about the resident, the place is clean and beautiful, food is good, the staff is very helpful to my sister and to the caregiver, they get in touch with me right away if there are any issues with my sister, the grounds are beautiful, the food is good…

CriticalIt's a place for folks on a budget. The Nursing staff is "burned out." At times they are "unkind" with residents as well as family members who speak on behalf of their loved ones. Not much in the way of activities... Though my mother has gone to Bible study. Food is average to below average. Apartment/room size is adequate. For $[removed]/month, I was hoping for better service. But I guess it is what it is.
★★★★★
CriticalThe overall experience, cleanliness, quality of care, meals and dining, and activities have all been satisfactory. The friendliness of the staff is good and the value for cost is a little high for what is offered.
★★★★★
PositiveThey're caring people doing the best they can with limited resources. The chief resident complaints are food choices & lack of transportation.
★★★★★
PositiveThe staff are patient and personable. Not as much active activity as my grandmother expected from the way management sold us on the facility, but the actual staff is kind, wonderful chef and housekeeping
