CriticalThe first few weeks were hard: Getting medicine straight, getting our mom adjusted, and learning how everything works. But things have settled down. Just be prepared to meet with the administrators. They never hesitated to help. We are still frustrated by turn-around time when our mother presses the help button. Only a few of the aides are not friendly, and we believe this is part of their job, so we dinged them à point in this category. Otherwise, it is a friendly place.
★★★★★
PositiveThis facility is clean and the apartments are very adequate. Our tour was delivered very nicely and we saw each apartment available. Each aspect of the facility was explained and each of our questions were answered to our satisfaction. This facility did not make our short list only because it is further from our home than some of the others.

PositiveWould rate 1 thru 6 .... 5 .... she has not been there long enough to rate activities but they had a very nice Thanksgiving party and a great Christmas concert .. we are at the top end of our budget so we are ok with the value .... overall my mom and the family are very happy with Heartfields at Cary ..... CriticalDays before my mother passed away hospice aide visited her in the facility and found that her oxygen was in her nose but the tank was not turned on. Her o2 level was at 71 percent. I had to change her urine soaked sheets most of the time, she constantly had poop on her bathroom floor because they only officially cleaned once a week. I swept everyday and used Clorox wipes to clean up her floor. The facility itself seemed clean. most everyone was very nice. The activities director was awesome. Obviously, dirty sheets…
Response from the communityThank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am the Executive Director and was saddened to hear about the challenges your mother faced during her time in our community, and I want to express my sincere condolences for your loss. While I was not in the role of Executive Director during the period you described, I take your concerns very seriously. The experiences you shared do not reflect the standard of care we strive to provide, and I am committed to ensuring they are fully reviewed. I would also welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly, should you wish, so we can better understand your experience and continue working to improve for the families we serve.

PositiveThe staff is very helpful and friendly. The Mom liked the food. They had activities to encourage residents to go to the activity room to exercise or play bingo. The place is very clean. They were able to take good care of my Mom. When Mom's health suddenly declined they took the steps to send her to the hospital. When she was ready to return they were able to accommodate her now being on Hospice and took good care of her up to her passing yesterday morning.
Response from the communityThank you for sharing your heartfelt experience with us. It means a lot that your mom enjoyed the food and activities we offer during her time at HeartFields, and we’re glad to hear that our team provided exceptional support and care during such a challenging time. Please know our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult period.
