PositiveI've enjoyed living at Hollenbeck Palms for 17 years now. I like the fact that it's a one-off, not part of a chain. It's not-for-profit. I can go to the President/CEO's office and have a chat. It's like a village and has 8 acres of grounds (this saved us during CoVid). There's an emphasis on staying active and involved. Activity ideas from residents are welcomed and supported. Hollenbeck offers five levels of care (we're a continuing care facility) so couples with different needs can be on the same campus. In short…

PositiveBased upon my 2 months experience with Hollenbeck Palms, I highly recommend it to potential residents & their family members. The initial visit, admissions & move-in process took a month; I moved in to Independent Living a month ago. All issues that arose were addressed by the Director of Sales & Communication, the Director of Resident Services & Moving Coordinator, & maintenance, to my total satisfaction, e.g., negotiations with movers was touchy, but satisfactorily resolved. I was picky about paint colors; but ve…

PositiveMy room is a studio. Approximately 12 x 16. No kitchenette. Bathroom with shower. Plenty room for what I need. Close to Music Center and LA Union Station. Easy to attend events at the Music Center. About .6 miles to Mariachi Plaza Metro Station. The grounds of Hollenbeck Palms is around 8 acres. Nice property. Meals provided. Meals work for me.
★★★★★
PositiveHollenbeck Palms provided movers. This made the move easier. A move to a CCRC is a big change. My adaptive nature has helped me adjust. With meals being provided, this is practically no maintenance. Love accessibility of music and theater to this location and LA Metro. To those who think a move to a CCRC lessens your freedom, I believe I am more free now.

PositiveThe staff is always friendly and caring. My mom is not easy to handle at times due to her dementia and paranoia. [name removed] has handled every situation that has popped up in a professional yet compassionate way.
