Review for Home of the Good Shepherd at Highpointe

Those who don't have a voice, will get the worst care. Regular staff is very good. Agency staff is horrible. Short staffed almost every wknd. Visit, at a minimum, 3x a week so they know you want the best care possible.

We really liked the community. However; the community had a long waiting list, and they reached out to us after we committed to another community.

The thing that stands out the most is the staff is very caring. They treat the community like it's a family.

We liked the assisted living more than memory care. The memory care felt more institutionalized on our tour.

WHAT WAS ONCE GOOD IS NOW BAD!!!! DONT WALK BUT RUN FROM THIS PLACE.My father has been a resident at HOGS for 1 year. 3 days a week I come in with a treat (ice cream, cookies, donuts etc) and coffee as does my sister 2 days a week and we also bring my dads dog to visit. Today I was informed by their new administrator that I am not allowed to feed my dad due to health dept rules. And that my dads dog was no longer welcome here. Apparently its time to move on. Above and beyond the norm

My sister recently became a resident at Home of the Good Shepherd, because of some unexpected glitches during her release from the hospital. The people at Home of the Good Shepherd made an enormous effort to stay very late on a Friday and make her admission possible. They were extremely understanding and pro-active to resolve a very problematic situation, supplying everything we needed at very short notice.
