CriticalTerrible, you have to pay extra money for CNA's or a nurse or to wash clothes, everything costs extra money. It's terrible. They don't care about the patients and care more about the money they're bringing in the cafeteria is horrible, the food is horrible, and it's been that way for 3 or 4 years, they say it's a bad place for seniors that need help.

CriticalApartments are small housekeeping was mediocre. Some of the staff was very nice and many were very helpful. At the time I was there the top management person was not good. Nothing good to say about her and her attitude in 3 words after I moved I heard from a friend that she was fired and escorted off premises. Cost is high. Many residents fear that they will run out of money and then what will they do. Maintenance was very good. It's not exceptional, but adequate.

PositiveI have never personally been to Independence Village of Peoria. I live in California. We have many relatives including one of my sisters in Peoria and Chicago. So that's the reason my parents wanted to move there. The pictures my parents have sent all look great. I think the facility is very modern and clean. My parents like the other residents and the staff very much. They have not been thrilled with the food. But a new chef was recently hired and they are hopeful. PositiveAll I can tell you is that my mom is happy there. It took her a bit to get used to the move. Now she is engaged in the different activities they have. She has complained about the food but it's because she is a picky eater. But the times I have eaten with her the food has been really good.
