PositiveResidence not an Institution
La Paula Manor has been great for my mother who has dementia. It’s a small facility with about ten residents and a very attentive and communicative staff including a chef. I visited one of their other facilities which was much larger and had more of a nursing home institution sensibility. La Paula Manor feels more like a home vs an institution. My mother is very comfortable there and well taken care of which gives our family a greater peace of mind.

La Paula deserves a 5 star rating in every category, Due to my mom's dementia, she can be moody or quiet, but the hard-working, caring staff puts sincere effort into motivating all residents. When I became dissatisfied and disenchanted with her previous residence, an overrated, big community in Edgewater, A Place for Mom representatives helped me find excellent boutique housing specializing in dementia residents. Excellent service very patient and all hands are on deck to make sure my father’s needs are met. Very clean and comfortable atmosphere. It makes me feel like my father has to a second home.. The person who runs the place always gives me calls for updates when I’m not there. Also all the doctors or physical therapist that interact with my father consistently give me calls.

It is in a residential neighborhood which is nice. It does not look or feel like a facility. La Paula is a welcomed home in the neighborhood . The hands on director is always there and always available to answer any questions or address any concerns So far, I am very pleasedIt is a massive difference from the nursing home facility he came from.
