CriticalAfter being declared a fall risk this poor excuse for rehab punished me within seconds of admission by confining me to a wheelchair for the next 6weeks. I had previously been mostly independent and the Lutheran home took away the skills I was proficient at. I lost my courage, stamina, joy, and dreams in only a matter of hours. The aides were caring and kind but therapy was less than competent. I was never released from the wheelchair not even for bathroom's use. The mind games that the pt staff used to cause me dep…

PositiveWe received exceptional care at the Lutheran home. The staff was compassionate and understanding of my mothers needs. The facilities cleanliness, responsiveness, and tailored care plans made it feel like a genuine home to my mother. We are forever grateful to the Lutheran home.
★★★★★
CriticalThe food is cold and bland. It is noisy, making it hard for people to rest. The staff try hard, but they seem completely exhausted and miserable. We arrived one day to visit my grandmother and found her covered in cold food, that had been sitting there for hours. This is not a good place for anyone to be.

CriticalI feel that The Lutheran Home of Southbury did not do enough to protect its residents from the covid19 virus. Too many loved ones died due to the inability of this facility to care for them. Poor communication of medical staff during this time. So disappointed with their response to this pandemic. However, wonderful and caring CNAs.
