Excellent independent living facility

McKay Manor has been an excellent choice for our loved one. His studio apartment suits him very well; it is a bright atmosphere, and the housekeeping staff clean it weekly. All of the staff are very friendly, caring, and helpful to him and to his visitors. He enjoys greatly the meal time experiences and the food they provide three times a day. He gets medical care from his in-house nurse practitioner on a monthly basis. He is able to come and go as he pleases. He is very happy, and so are we!

I am planning a move into Mckay Manor around the middle of November. My children just bought a house in Shelbyville, toured the McKay facility and loved it. I, on the other hand, toured the facility by phone with their director of sales. We did a very detailed and delightful tour purely via Facebook . (how fun). I got to see my apartment, plus the grounds, plus the amenities. When I mentioned that I was bringing very little furniture due to my trip from Florida to Indiana she offered to take me FaceTime shopping so…

Friendly Staff

I chose this community due to the cost and also the size of the apartment. The food is pretty bad and you don't have any choices unless you want a hamburger or hot dog. I have a medical reason for needing to take my meals in my room and I'm charged an extra $50 a month for that.
