As a member of the CarDon family of senior living communities, which now extends throughout south-central Indiana, Altenheim encourages family members to become involved with each resident’s personal care plan. Nestled on 32 beautiful acres, Altenheim is surrounded by lush lawns filled with walking trails, patios, a stocked fishing pond, and picnic area. Services and amenities As an independent living facility with assisted living and memory care options available, Altenheim offers an array of services for residents. Meals are provided through restaurant-style dining, daily. For residents who are still able to drive, resident parking is available, and for those who need assistance, transportation is provided. Altenheim has many amenities allowing residents to take care of their chores on site. Residents can enjoy laundry services, beauticians, and barbers. Residents who love outdoor activities can stroll along the gorgeous walkway or spend some time by the fishing pond. PositiveI just popped in a couple times to make up my mind on my room. Everyone was pleasantly helpful. I wondered around the entry open area and the residents seemed peaceful and relaxed. The second time I was there at evening mealtime and a gentleman was playing the piano beautifully. I've been hyper and have called several times to see if my husband's admittance is happening and no one has acted like I'm annoying. Now I just have tomove from a 4 bedroom home and 64 years of stuff into 1 room. YIKES!

PositiveGood fit for my sister
My sister is in Independent Living, so she is not really being cared for and she hasn't participated in activities. My sister moved into a home that had just been renovated with new flooring, new appliances except for a relatively new refrigerator

CriticalStaff is unorganised and unprofessional. Patient care doesn’t seem to be a priority. Nurses and management don’t seem to care about the patients. Call lights go unanswered after long periods of time. Nurses aids disappear for long periods of time. If you love your family, do not place them here…

Some of the staff are better than others. Room size is good. My father doesn't like too much space. Food is hit or miss, some days it looks great other days it doesn't.
