Morning Star Village is the friendliest and only locally owned assisted living community in the Rockford, Illinois area. We offer a wide range of services to residents who are happy to call Morning Star Village home. Presence Life Connections manages our community, and they have a long history of serving seniors in Illinois and continue to have a great reputation. Our outstanding relationships with residents and their families, as well as local physician offices, hospitals, and rehabilitation communities, helps us curate the best lifestyles possible. Year after year, we continue to have happy residents and families. In fact, Morning Star Village won the ‘Excellence in Action’ award for customer satisfaction in 2015. As an assisted living community, it is our duty to uphold the lives of residents by staying attentive and compassionate to their growing needs. If you’re thinking of having yourself or a loved one join our community, look no further. Community Services and Amenities Morning Star Village is staffed 24 hours a day with licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and a caring management team, most of whom have been with us since we opened in 2009. With coordination between residents and families, we create personalized care plans tailored to meet the distinct needs of each resident with compassion and care. Residents frequent our spacious lounge, gift shop, chapel, exercise room, and beauty/barber shop as often as they wish. Morning Star Village is located close to shopping, medical facilities, and a wide variety of local dining establishments, which we frequent regularly. Although we’re located on a main thoroughfare, Morning Star Village offers a peaceful, wooded view from many of our apartments. There are turn lanes in both directions, as well as a stop light, to offer those residents who are still driving a safe entry and exit into our parking lot. Living Arrangements Residents relax comfortably in our selection of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units. All of our units have roomy common spaces, a kitchenette, private accessible bathroom, closets, and emergency call systems to notify staff of any time-sensitive needs or concerns. Rating of zero. Studio was $[removed]/ month and it was ghastly tiny. There were no activities to speak of because they put crime scene tape across the area that most places commonly use for activities which is the lunch room. After the meals it's taped off. People have to stay in rooms. The little activity room was just women's type stuff. There was no encouragement to wander about. I'm not sure about the food/ it was passable. But I really don't know. Apartments are comfortable and provide a safe environment for residents, with microwaves and small refrigerators in each. Bathrooms are spacious with a walk in shower with a bench. Staff is friendly and caring. There are various activities every day for anyone who wants to participate.

All of the staff are friendly and helpful! When my mother moved in on [date removed]she was on oxygen, has to be escorted everywhere. She was very weak. Her food had to be pureed. With they consistent help, she has become stronger. They know who she is and who I am. She no longer needs her food pureed. She goes to exercise everyday. They have so many activities she enjoys.
