Review for MorningStar at Applewood

Morningstar is a great place. Staff is phenomenal! My dad was there for only a few weeks and then he fell. He went to the hospital and is currently in a rehab center. It looks like he may be going to hospice. We are waiting to hear from the rehab center but[name removed] isn't getting any better and he doesn't want to improve. He has made it clear. Unfortunately, he may be moving out of MS in January. I appreciate all the help we have received.

At both Morningstar facilities that we toured, everyone was so helpful, friendly and compassionate. We would rate both places 8-10 out of 10, but a little bit more than we were willing to spend. We could cover the cost for 2-3 years, but we really feel like our mom could outlive her resources at Morningstar, so we need to choose a more affordable option. Thank you for your help in our search for a new place for our mother!

Great facility; good food; okay care

Their attention to high fall risk patients could be better. My loved one has experienced multiple falls. Actions are very reactive rather than proactive.

With anonymous authorship it’s difficult to be certain, but believing we have identified the situation, please know that appropriate interventions are in place to protect your wife whose condition does make her a high fall risk. We have educated our team on how best to respond to her unique needs, and credit our falls prevention technology for preventing several incidents. The people and care were amazing top to bottom. Yes, we would recommend MorningStar at Applewood to other families based on the experience so far.

Good experience for respite care

The staff were very friendly and helpful. When we arrived to check in they met us at the door and made introductions to staff and residents who were there. They were very responsive to our questions and concerns. The first evening we were there we had several family members who came down to visit and they were very accommodating.
