They've taken away made to order breakfast and now it's a lukewarm breakfast buffet. Ick. They said the transportation shuttle is available all day when you sign up 4 days ahead for dr visits. That window is now 8-2 so dr appts are difficult to get to. It was $[removed] addtl charge each way to Mayo- so $[removed]per trip out of po keg. Now they decided Mayo is further away than it used to be so they charge for 3 miles each way and they raised the rates $[removed] per mile. So round trip went from $[removed] to …
Response from the communityThank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We understand that moving into a senior living community is a significant decision, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify several of the items you mentioned. • Regarding breakfast, our buffet breakfast has been the standard dining service at Park Terrace for approximately two years.. We continually evaluate resident feedback regarding food quality and temperature and have shared your comments with our culinary team for review. • Our shuttle provides service within a 10-mile radius on a first-come, first-served basis, with reservations requested at least four-teen days in advance. Transportation outside the included service area, including trips to Mayo Clinic, is subject to additional mileage charges. These fees are periodically reviewed to reflect operating costs. • Medical support remains available within the community. We continue to have a non-medical home care provider onsite and visiting physicians who see residents weekly. We continue to seek additional healthcare partnerships to expand the services available to our residents. Please remember, we are independent living. • Housekeeping is expected to occur on the published schedule, and we recognize that missed cleanings are unacceptable. We are reviewing our housekeeping processes to ensure services are delivered consistently and encourage any resident experiencing missed cleanings to notify the Executive Director immediately so the issue can be corrected. • Each apartment has an individual thermostat; however, the buildings utilize a central HVAC system. Apartments should still be able to maintain comfortable temperatures. Any apartment that is unable to cool appropriately should be reported to maintenance so the HVAC system can be inspected and repaired if necessary. • As for the plumbing contractors you have seen onsite, these are part of our proactive efforts to maintain and improve an aging infrastructure. While their presence may be noticeable, these repairs are made to minimize disruptions and ensure the long-term reliability of our community's systems. We understand your concern regarding the value of your monthly rent. Our goal is to continually invest in our community, our services, and our residents' quality of life. While services and operational costs may evolve over time, we remain committed to providing a safe, engaging, and well-maintained community. Thank you again for sharing your feedback. Resident comments help us identify opportunities for improvement, and we remain committed to listening and making Park Terrace the best community it can be.
