A Great Place To Be

Truthfully, I would give each category a 5 for River's Edge. My brother and I both said we could live there easily. Rivers Edge was a good experience for us. My sister is still adjusting, but seems to like it.

My tour began at the front desk. I was so busy noticing the two women who came forward to introduce themselves, I almost missed the sign that one of them made for me with my name on it. A nice personalized touch! I was introduced to a couple of residents on our way to a private dining room. I actually met a woman who had just gotten a puppy so that question was answered without me having to ask. Next we toured 4 options for space and lighting. I don’t particularly like or need two bedrooms but the space felt like

so heartless

I overheard our manager telling a resident - the resident struggles to get by with a walker - that if she can't pick up her dog's waste, she and her dog shouldn't be here. Most of my neighbors use something to help them, wheelchair, walker, something. None of them look like they could pick up anything off the ground without falling. River's Edge don't tell you this stuff in the tour or in the advertising. Overall, it seems a very unsympathetic attitude especially for a place that's supposed to be for elderly people

No van

One reason I moved here is for the van. I don't drive, I need it for doctor appointments. The van has been broke for at least three weeks, they can't tell us when it will be fixed. This is the second time since I been here its been broke. Maybe they should stop telling people they have this service if they cant do better than this, have people move in needing it. Now they have us crammed into a minivan that very uncomfortble and very hard to get wheelchair in out.

This place is a very expensive joke

The food is really bad - and they force you to pay it meals whether you eat it or not. Funny how when people are forced to pay - like it or not - they have no incentive to make it good. Good luck with a repair request, you may as well figure out a way to fix it yourself. I had a faulty electrical outlet for the last four months. False fire alarms go off a lot and no one tells us anything about why, what's broken, what's done to get it fixed. There are a lot of fed up tenants looking elsewhere - if River's Edge don'
