About the community
The mission of Roxborough Home for Women is to provide superior personal care services in a nurturing, caring, and homelike environment. Our belief is that such surroundings create a lifestyle in which each woman's dignity is respected and her individuality is valued; a lifestyle that preserves her independence but in which she is never alone. We strive continuously to maintain our high-performance standards by providing our residents with a skilled professional staff that gets to know each woman independently; daily activities that provide mental stimulation, socialization and exercise classes; and nourishing meals that meet the physical requirements to encourage our ladies to be their best possible selves. Located on two acres, all rooms are private. Roxborough Home for Women is a personal care home for women.This community has been serving the community since opening in 1887. RHW is a member of the Pennsylvania Assisted Living Association (PALA). RHW is a non-profit community with not state or federal funding. This Victorian style community offers private rooms, meals, laundry services, and light housekeeping. Residents are independent, however, our staff is here to assist when needed.

CriticalGreat staff, very kind, very sweet and understanding, however the head of the facility is belittling and demeaning. Her superiority complex is felt by the staff residence and family members of resident. Also, the residence feel that admin Institutes new rules and restrictions as they please. In addition, I have been told the food is usually cold, very small portion and/or the cheapest ingredients possible.

PositiveMy sister suffers from Alzheimer's. She is still at a stage where she can dress herself and care for herself but is beyond being trusted with a stove, driving or navigating on her own. We found the Roxborough Home for Living via A Place for Mom and it was, as they say, a godsend. It has been such an improvement in the quality of her life.
