CriticalWhat we appreciated at Serene Gardens of Grand Blanc were the clean rooms and spaciousness. However, the improvements would involve hiring more staff to help facilitate care for patients with more serious mobility issues.
★★★★★
CriticalPositive: The intake process was smooth and the main contacts[Name Removed] were pleasant to work with. Care staff were also nice and friendly. The facility was clean and seemed to offer a range of activities. Negative: it quickly became apparent [Name Removed] care needs were beyond what Serene could provide. She needed extra assistance eating, getting out of bed, etc. Several times we found her food in her room uneaten and her still in bed. I don't fault the staff for this. I think there were simply too few of t…

PositiveI have found Setene Gardens of Grand Blanc an amazing facility. My mom is in Memory Care. Her transition has been so rapid. Less than a year ago she was living by herself and driving. The staff at SG and Absolute Hospice has been so wonderful with everything we’ve gone through.

PositiveSerene Gardens was the ONLY care facility in Lansing/Brighton/Ann Arbor/Detroit area that was willing to accept our father with an LVAD as a resident. The LVAD group from UoM hospital helped to arrange for them to be trained. The aides were very nervous with the LVAD batteries initially. The center would have been much better if there had been some onsite support for LVAD care for a couple weeks. The staff were all very kind and considerate. The food was mediocre. There was a lot of unidentifiable fried patties of …

Switching over the medication service was a nightmare and no one at Serene understood the ins and outs of the process. The food smelled amazing but was not very nutritional. Lots of carb heavy meals and the vegetables were always overcooked. My mother was a diabetic and I was concerned with the amount of carbs she was eating at every meal. I never tasted …

CriticalJust walk in and look around for yourself. Look at the residents, look at their hair, and clothing, go during meal time. Please do your due diligence and inspect this place before you place your loved one here. It takes forever to get buzzed inside after 5 pm. The management ([name removed]) and staff do not care about the residents. Medicine is rarely given on time or prescriptions filled on time. They ran out of meds several times and informed us that we would have to go get more due to the pharmacy being closed…
