Administration was extremely difficult to get a hold of. Multiple messages left were not returned. We were told we would be notified of death immediately, this was not done. Body was moved before we were notified.

We were attracted to them because of the home setting. I would recommend to others.

Overall pleased

A new company bought Serenity during mom's stay and the transition was much rougher than it should have been with poor communication and inconsistent staffing. We started discussing moving mom. But it got better after a few months so we decided to stay there. The first house manager we had was almost OCD about the kitchen. Again the inconsistency of staff and changes in operations during the transition. But the last couple weeks had as house managers were great. [name removed] and her husband were a 10. Consistency…

Okay but not great

One of my biggest issues is that, transportation to and from for required medical appointments is an extra charge. The care services overall needs to be improved. The environment is good for my loved one, and it's a smaller more intimate setting. My loved one does not like the food, and would like to see better options on the menu but then again my loved one is a picky eater.

Thanks for taking the time to provide your review. We have transport vehicles that are primarily used for resident outings and activities. When transporting residents to personal appointments, we must enroll extra staff support, so this type of transport is fee-based. When possible, we encourage residents to use the medical primary care team that rounds at the home, to reduce the need for out-of-facility primary care services. We will review the Care Plan for all of our residents and have our leadership team perform individual resident meetings and implement any potential Care Plan changes that may be indicated, and or, identify and address any new resident preferences. The menu has recently been updated and expanded and we have received positive feedback from our residents. Our leadership team will conduct follow-up resident meetings to insure that the residents are happy with the meal plan.

Highly recommend

They have changed their house manager recently -we don't know much about her yet, but the first one was great as well. My loved one has only been here a few months. I live far but other family member visits more often and has had no complaints at all. I would recommend Serenity House to others looking, it is a smaller more homey place. A Place for mom was wonderfully helpful to us and we would recommend their services as well.

Serenity House We Are Like Family

Serenity House feels like family. The staff are very receptive and amicable to work with. I believe the staff to resident ratio is 2 staff to 8 residents,. The community is able to assist with bathing and medication management. They are keeping my loved one busy and it is a good thing. The food is okay, it could be a little healthier though. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.
