CriticalWe had a bad experience in our short time at StoryPoint of Medina. The ‘enhanced’ support that was sold to us, and desperately needed did not happen with consistency and when concern was expressed by us rather than improving services we felt we were met with a lack of empathy and no consistent improvement. We’d been talked out of the assisted living we originally sought and into ‘enhanced’ independent care. After a couple weeks we expressed concern that assisted living was needed. There was no follow up from Story…

PositiveI am living at Story Point and it fits my needs and the people working here are very caring and respectful and attentive. I would recommend StoryPoint to others who are searching for senior living.

CriticalTerrible experience. They should be reported to health department if Ohio. The facility is going thru a transition. Bought out in [Date Removed] from private owned to corporate. Under staffed across all areas. Non responsiveness to residents needs. Mixed up meds. No leadership presence. No accountability. I would not recommend until they figure out their business model. We were sad that our decision to move mom here met with such dissatisfaction.
Response from the communityHello, We’re sorry to hear your experience did not meet expectations, especially during what we know is an important and emotional transition for families. The concerns you’ve shared around responsiveness, staffing, communication, and medication management are serious, and we appreciate you bringing them forward. Periods of operational transition can create challenges, but that should never impact the quality of care or support residents receive. Our team remains focused on strengthening staffing, leadership visibility, and overall consistency throughout the community. We truly value feedback like this as we continue working to improve the resident and family experience. To connect with us directly, please call us and ask to speak with our Executive Director. Thank you.

CriticalTransition from private to corporate ownership has not been smooth. We have had a large staff turnover leaving residents confused and without some services. Call buttons are not being answered timely, showers not being given, trash & apartment cleaning not being done. Food service continues to be the most egregious issue with proteins overcooked to the point that they are so dry it is difficult to cut and chew them, vegetables cooked to mush consistency, grilled cheese, hot dogs and eggs & pancakes served burnt, ho…
Response from the communityHi Carolyn, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry about your experience and understand how frustrating these concerns can be. Over the past several months, our community has gone through a period of transition, including leadership and staffing changes. During that time, we experienced turnover in a few key roles, including culinary and nursing leadership. We recognize that transitions like this can impact the resident experience, and we truly appreciate your patience as we work through these improvements. We’re happy to share that several positive updates are underway. Our community is now appropriately staffed in accordance with state regulations, and we have recently welcomed new clinical leadership, including an Assistant Director of Nursing. A new Director of Nursing will also be joining us from another community next week. In addition, our dining program is currently receiving oversight and support from our regional culinary team as we continue strengthening our culinary leadership. We remain committed to improving consistency in both service and quality. Our team has also been connecting directly with residents and families through Resident Council updates and ongoing communication. In the coming weeks, you will receive an introduction letter highlighting these updates and introducing new team members. Every resident’s experience matters deeply to us, and we would welcome the opportunity to continue the conversation and ensure your concerns are addressed. Please feel free to connect directly with our Executive Director so we can learn more and work toward a resolution. Thank you again for your feedback.
