Better than numbers, I can say that the folks are nice, the care seems good but management systems are woefully inadequate and the place is clearly very understaffed (especially in food service). Having spoken with others I think this is common at many Sunrise facilities and not unique to Shrewsbury.

My mom and dad got a 2 bedroom on the Reminiscence (memory care) floor. He does not have memory issues. So I was very pleased that this was an option for them. Dad now has a full time set of care givers for mom. This gives him the opportunity to do more for himself. He has been able to move from being her caregiver to being her husband. - Reminisce staff are great. This is a calling for them. Not just a job. They are well trained. They are not equipped to handle patients with slight memory issues that for whatever reason aren't able to press the buttons for assistance. They are short staffed with aides- but claim they are fully staffed. So it can take over 20-30 minutes to get someone to help the client get to the bathroom. They charge extra if the client wants to take their meals in their room after certain number of requests. Honestly for anyone looking into an ALF I would recommend trying a week of respite care if they offer it. Many plac…
