First of all, they made us feel welcome from day one. Moving Dad in was smooth, and getting his bed set up was simple and stress-free. The community always had something going on—Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and family events—which gave us meaningful opportunities to spend time together and feel involved. The place was clean and staff were attentive. My mom enjoyed it more than she ever expected until four of the residents she played games either died in a short time so she list her will to live. I believe sunrise did take care of my mom. Thank you. I certainly recommend it to others knowing that each family is unique and has different needs. The facility seemed to care well for all individuals with their own needs

I wouldn't accept a placement in the older (south) residence. It's shabby and needful for updating. Comments about the South residence: plenty of friendly, helpful staff, cheerful sunroom and outdoor spaces, smaller rooms, minimal community area, administrative staff is very difficult to communicate with because they are rarely there and return calls sporadically. After 3 months in the Westminster facility our friends care level necessitated Memory Care. At the time, Westminster had no Memory Care beds available.

It was horrible. She passed away I think from a stroke 3 days after she moved in. I'm guessing that she didn't get her blood pressure meds. I am a physician, so I think I have some insight into their care. They were very kind to her, but, I think we're very understaffed. Maybe that was an issue related to COVID, and perhaps was pretty universal. But I would still be wary. considered suing Sunrise, but have not pursued it.
