It was a very nice place but unfortunately not a good fit for our mother after all. We were sad to move her back home in early January. We had not understood what stage my mother's dementia is in. She really needs 1:1 assistance so we moved her home with full-time aides. She is more comfortable there despite missing the activities and engagement at the residence. CriticalVery nice facilities, not the best staff
Some of the staff were wondering and caring. Others not so much. I found the executive director to be rather harsh at times. The facilities are very nice themselves, but they definitely do better with people in independent living than those who need lots of help.

On the day I was going to see The Apsley and another place, I ended up canceling the second appointment. The Apsley's decor was impressive, and everyone I met that day was very nice. I wanted my husband to be close to home, and frankly, The Apsley was cheaper than the other place. I liked what I saw and brought my husband with me for the next visit, and he agreed to stay there. They agreed to have my husband on a "respite" footing for a month while I had cataract surgery in both eyes. One month turned into three, …
