The staff to resident ratio is excellent. Residents are given a lot of one to one care. Activities are well organized, comprehensive, and fun. The meals are extraordinary.

I liked the fact that all residents were treated with respect and they were all loved like family. The aspect that I like least is the amount we had to pay every month. The elderly worked hard for their money all their lives, and to have to give it all to a facility for care is so ridiculous. But then again, any facility you go to charges a ridiculous amount for care. I don't know what the solution would be. The Gabkes in Shelley is a 16-bed facility only for memory care residents. My mom is very happy at The Gables in Shelley, Idaho. [name removed], the manager, makes sure I receive pictures of my mom from time to time, which makes the guilt go away. I couldn't have found a better facility than The Gables in Shelley. Based on the experience we have had so far we would definitely recommend this community to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.

We had a pleasant experience. The staff were wonderful and caring. Alexis, the administrator there, was very nice and compassionate, and wonderful to work with. It wasn't the right fit for my mom, but they handled it very professionally and compassionately. I have nothing negative to say, and I highly recommend them.

They answered all of our questions and gave us lots of information to consider. The community was very nice and they were very accommodating to us. They also followed up with and made sure all our questions were answered.
