I could certainly see why the ratings were so high a year ago. My mother loved it there mostly because the people were friendly and the meals were so well prepared …it felt like home. As of now, a family member is having to go to the grocery store regularly for something decent to put in her tiny fridge and I have to call Grubhub to deliver something appetizing for an evening meal. PositiveBeautiful Facility, Well Staffed
The Renaissance is a very nice facility. I joke that I wish I lived there. The community is active and mixed in terms of physical and cognitive abilities. My mom really struggled to integrate for reasons outside the facility’s control but they have gone above and beyond to help her and keep us on the know.

The Renaissance of Florence is a beautiful facility. The staff are very helpful and kind, taking a genuine interest in the residents and the care they receive. Very little effort in welcome and assimilation of new residents. Night staff did not look in on parents (one each in separate rooms) - my father fell twice, once at night and screamed for help for over 2 hours but was never helped. He got himself up and back in bed. Nursing director was not very regretful and simply suggested use of help buttons (these are not standard there-- another shortcoming IMO. In short, if the resident is highly social and motivated, this might be a good choice. Otherwise, if needy and shy…
