CriticalIt was under construction during our time there. Hopefully they updated the "dining" area so it doesn't look like a low-income school cafeteria. there needs to be a more secure setting & front door not be open until 11 pm. They do not have a chef. Or equipment to serve anything eye appealing or taste decent except toast. But more than often their out of bread Did not partake in the activities. Don't have high expectations. You get what you pay for. Great sales job from [name removed], we got took. Took going to the…

PositiveMy mother was a resident at Gramercy, when she passed away they charged her the full amount of rent for the next month. I am due a refund, an have been dealing with this problem for 8 weeks. Have left numerous Voice messages and have not had them return my call. My mother's rent was always paid on time each month. Other than this refund problem my mother was treated very well while living there.

PositiveAll the staff was friendly and helpful. My apartment was just the right size. I have a studio b. I'm sleeping in my recliner so that was al I needed. They just hired an activity person. The receptionist had been filling in and was doing a great job. The cleanliness of the whole building was very good. The dining area was kept clean. That is a hard area to keep clean.

CriticalPhone calls are never answered. Always goes straight to voicemail. Administration never calls back no matter how many emails and messages you leave. We've been trying to resolve billing issues for months. If we cannot get these issues resolved, our next step is to seek legal assistance. Never had this much frustration with prior owners.
★★★★★
CriticalSince new owners have replaced previous administrators, service to residents have been reduced. There are fewer direct care staff such as residents aids negatively affecting resident care. Prior to the new administration, there was a transportation coordinator who made residents appointments; such as medical appointments and coordinated those appointments with Gramercy’s transportation. That service is no longer provided. Transportation however is still available on certain days and during certain hours.
★★★★★
PositiveThe staff. They care about the residents and strive to make sure we know that. They greet you by name and ask if anything is needed or if I have any questions. The vibe here is positive and I've never felt like part of a herd. The residents are also mostly friendly. There are a few curmudgeons, but then again, you can push their wheelchairs down the ramp and wave bye-bye. Unless they have the brakes on. Then you have to just walk away.
