About the community
The Rivers at Maryland Farms provides assisted living in an apartment-style setting that offers the simple pleasures - nutritious food, comfortable surroundings, and the support of a warm, caring and competent staff. A separate Special Care Center for residents with Alzheimer's or other memory related disorders is also on-site. The key to our success in the Special Care Center is our dedicated and compassionate staff, which receives special training and supervision. Our Special Care programming offers a variety of activities designed to achieve memory enrichment and positive social interactions. Caring for residents with dementia is a partnership between the community and the family, frequent family visits are encouraged and support groups and advisory councils are arranged. A Short Stay Program for seniors who need short-term care may also be available. It is the ideal alternative for recuperating after a hospital stay, while family caregivers are on vacation or if you just want to try out assisted living. Please call for more information or to schedule a visit to find out how The Rivers can enrich your life or the life of a loved one.

★★★★★
CriticalThey hospital dumped my dad. They probably never should have let him move in to begin with. The facility and most of the staff were nice. The communication became terrible to non existent once they sent him away to the hospital for an infection he didn't have. They also were given an order to not admit new residents during the time we were waiting to hear of they were going to take him back. Overall for us it was a bad experience. They did not do my Dad right at all.
★★★★★
PositiveI would recommend The Rivers at Maryland Farms. Mom is comfortable and is receiving good care. It is close to my home. Easy for me to visit her. . I can also tell you that the fall detection system worked as designed. Mom never pushed her call button. The camera picked up the fall and alerted the staff. I don't know how it works but it definitely works.
★★★★★
PositiveThey are transitioning to new owners/management company so that has been a change - but I would still recommend. It's a good facility and has lots of kind/caring staff
★★★★★
PositiveMom is so pleased with The Rivers! She has a bright, sunny corner room with 2 big windows. She loves all the activities tailored to her skill level and great performances and interactive group activities! The staff are all very qualified, kind, patient and knowledgeable! We know Mom is safe, well cared for and content. Best decision we have ever made!
★★★★★
PositiveThe facility is very clean and well managed. The executive staff is highly responsive to family needs. The physical and occupational therapy is excellent. The nursing care is good. My mother typically is cared for by consistent staff members. We are very happy there.
★★★★★
PositiveOverall, I have been pleased with The Rivers. Particularly during the recent ice storm and they're evacuation plan when the boiler broke. For the assisted living side, the food is much better than in the memory care side. But all of the staff, in either assisted living or memory care, have been excellent. The communication was a little bit lacking when they first converted to the new ownership, but otherwise I am still pleased with my choice.
