CriticalThe facility was older and it showed, but it was also the cheapest. Room size was sufficient. Most of staff seemed okay but they were getting a new manager (one i spoke with was getting promotion to regional position. Also they didn't have any activities director for a few weeks. Good seemed pretty good but there was some issues with either staff or other residents, as my mom was reticent to go down to dining room, and ended up losing weight. She had a couple falls and had to be "found" because she didn't remember …

PositiveThe company here recently took over, so they’re definitely going through the usual growing pains and reworking a lot of things. That said, the prices are much better than other places, and they’re clearly putting real effort into upgrading the property. They’re renovating everything little by little — new floors, paint, appliances, blinds, and the units are bigger, sunnier, and the AC units work great. When she returned home upon counting the ones left, I counted only about four that were used. And when her visiting angel went to visit one day,…

PositiveSo far Escalante was a blessing. It may not be visually as fancy as the other places but considering my dad's dementia he himself is not really aware of those type of details. He is happy as long as he has some companionship, and that needs to be was met...The only issue we had was a loss of lower dentures. He is clean, no rashes or infections. Overall highly satisfied. Food was a bit bland and limited in choice, but again for him it was perfect. Activities are limited but perfect for my dad.
