CriticalStaff issues
High staff turnover, lack of training, nepotism in hiring. Dentures were often not removed or cleaned. Bed alarms were often disconnected or non-working. My father had dementia and was a FALL RISK. He was left unattended in his room during the day, against our wishes. He missed meals, according to a caregiver, because he was napping (alone in his room) during the day.

PositiveI would recommend, it's definitely a very nice community
Not sure about the meals, we do not eat the food. The value for cost is hard to say, they're all too expensive. There is not a big staff turnover so residents can get to know them better. Family members of other residents are happy. Lots of activities, they keep the memory care residents engaged.

Don't be fooled by the glitz and glamour of the facility! Go visit in the evening hours and on the weekends to see how short staffed the care team is. Use of many temps who have little or no training! Many staff are more interested in being on their cell phones than helping residents. The few dedicated staff cannot make up for the short comings of others. We experienced a number of issues which led to us moving our loved one. Facility was similar to others we looked at, but pricing and friendliness of staff made the choice easier. Although all of the staff are extremely friendly, they are often short on staff.

All are a 5. We enjoyed the experience while mom was living there. Unfortunately she passed away just shy of 1 year at Westwood - [date removed]. We had no issues at all with the staff, events and well worth the money, and we would 100% recommend the community to other families.
