Personal experience

Staff generally are wonderful. Activities sometimes beyond capabilities of residents. Food was ok. Sometimes better than at other times. Housekeeping staff did a good job . Apartment size ok Nothing is ideal so having said that I think I picked that best place when I could no longer provide home care. I liked the fact that hospice care and medical care could easily be arranged and all staff ( or most ) seemed genuinely interested in residents and their families. I would recommend facility.

A supportive and caring community for a family member

The people that work and volunteer there are so kind. The food is delicious. The events they organize are fantastic. My dad is in a one bedroom and the kitchen is spacious along with the family room. The pocket door separates the family room and kitchen from his bedroom closet and bathroom. I think it's a perfect amount of space for him It really is a wonderful place for him and every time we show up people are great!

Our families experience for a fantastic next step home for my Dad

I am not the resident, my dad is. 5 has been my experience so far. From the moving in to adjusting and settling in, they have been great! People have been ambassadors and stopped in to invite my Dad to meals and events. The team that works there has welcomed him and helped as he's adjusted and needed a little support with computer and printer connections. He is really enjoying it there! Whitney Place is a beautiful community. The dementia unit, called Tapestry, is quite large. There are uncluttered hallways for patients to walk, no areas where someone may get lost. Patients have two dining areas with assistance in both. Staffing, like aides, are limited and sometimes difficult to find. Staff has a tendency to group patients together in the dining areas so they can watch them. Nurses are located in their office except when passing medication.
