Wholehearted Senior Living at Riverpark has been a Certified Alzheimer's Facility for 20 years, so families can have peace of mind knowing their loved one is in good hands. All caregivers are specially trained to care for those with memory loss and have experience working with various types of dementia. The small, intimate setting enables caregivers to provide special attention and person-centered care to each resident. Life enrichment activities and events are regularly scheduled, so the senior residents can be as active as they choose. This community also provides private rooms, giving each resident their own personal space where they can relax and disconnect when they begin to feel overwhelmed. In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Facility A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities: Type A: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted. Type B: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair. Type C (Adult Foster Care): Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program.
