About the community
East of the Connecticut River, surrounded by state forests, is Alto Evergreen Walk — a charming community offering a continuum of care, including assisted living, memory care and respite care services. Expertly trained team members strive to provide the highest level of custom-tailored care. Here, seniors can lead an active lifestyle while receiving care that supports their unique needs. Seniors can participate in the ever-evolving calendar of activities or take advantage of the community’s luxurious amenities. Socialize with peers at the Fusion Cocktail Lounge, or enjoy the fresh air while relaxing in the outdoor courtyard, complete with a fountain and firepit. For those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, this community offers two different types of memory care neighborhoods — The Sound and The Cove. The Sound is the transitional memory care unit that is specifically designed for those with mild to moderate memory loss, while The Cove is for those in the more advanced stages. The specially trained caregivers provide stimulating activities and use an innovative approach to create custom care plans based on the residents’ favorite pastimes, foods, and memories. Make every day a great one at Alto Evergreen Walk. State Classification Alto Evergreen Walk is an assisted living service agency (ALSA) , which in the state of Connecticut is an agency that is licensed to provide nursing services and assisted living services to residents. ★★★★★
CriticalMy mom absolutely hated Alto but is now at [community removed] and really liked it. Every aspect of [community removed] is so much better. The staff at Alto did not advocate for the residents and it was a nightmare for our family while my mom was there.
★★★★★
PositiveI would advise people to use your service. You made it very easy to schedule multiple visits, which is important, look at as many places as you can. Specifically Alto Evergreen, so far we are very happy with it. Friendly staff. Food is good. Place is modern, clean. I would recommend it.
★★★★★
PositiveThe employees were awesome. Always seeing to the residents and their families. The medical staff keeping the family updated on any issues that arise. The friendliness of everyone who worked there.
★★★★★
PositiveI would recommend Alto. On a scale of 1 -5 I would give them a 4. The only reason I wouldn't give them a 5 is because of the food. Everyone complains about the food. I know it's hard with 100 elderly and different pallets and medical needs / restrictions. The food needs to be addressed.
★★★★★
CriticalThe activities are very juvenile. The staff is less than friendly and not helpful. The food is basically horrible and very unhealthy. There is so much salt on everything. All they care about is making money. They do not care about the well being or comfort of their residents. It is despicable how they never advocate for their residents.
★★★★★
CriticalThey misspelled my father's name on his door. They had inaccurate information on our paperwork (they listed my address in Florida, when I live in New Hampshire). They do not refill his cpap machine, nor do they supply distilled water. They are do not seem to be making sure he is bathing regularly.
