About the community
Welcome to Amber Court of Westbury...a wonderful place to call home. When living arrangements are no longer safe or desirable, we offer an extraordinary alternative. Residential services, personal care assistance and medical supervision are valuable features of this lifestyle. Our experienced, devoted team of professionals provides nurturing support while appreciating each resident's individuality. This custom-tailored, responsive approach defines Amber Court of Westbury, where enthusiasm, commitment and dedication are our hallmarks. The friendly ambiance of our close knit community feels like a warm embrace. Add to that, a wide array of stimulating recreational activities and hotel-like setting, and the result is a vastly improved quality of life. Our compassionate, expertly trained staff takes its mission to heart: to preserve dignity, provide quality care and promote enjoyment through socialization. And, if medical or personal care needs increase, we offer a higher tier of services to address them. Board certified doctors and registered nurses are on-site ensuring that residents receive the best possible treatment. For those who meet certain criteria, we are proud to also have the Medicaid-funded Assisted Living Program (ALP) available. This continuum of care supports our "aging in place" orientation. It allows most people to remain lifelong residents. Licensed by the NYS Department of Health, we are family owned and managed since 1968.

CriticalAll case managers are relatively receptive to hearing requests for care of family members however there is no follow thru. Needs of residents are not regularly assessed causing concern for quality of care issues such as physical cleanliness and safety of residents and environment. The rooms are dusty, the bathrooms are filthy. It almost appears that the expectation is the family and or resident are responsible for cleaning the rooms. There is no flexibility for assistance with ADLs, no consideration for determinati…

CriticalDisappointed overall, there's Not enough help to assist With patients. The room is fine no problem there, the food doesn't look too good to me they could do better.
★★★★★
PositiveMy wife and I are very pleased with Amber Court and how they treat my wife’s mother. It’s very clean, bed is always made, clothes are folded, and the staff is kind and friendly! My mother-in-law has made great friends and has adjusted well having been there now 5 weeks.

CriticalI am disappointed to see that the bathrooms in the resident's rooms are not clean. The tiles on the floors, walls and showers are dirty. The toilet bowel is old and appears dirty. Four people share the bathroom and viruses can be transmitted if the cleanliness of the bathrooms is not up to par. In the resident rooms nothing is moved during cleaning and therefore there is dust build up under beds and behind furniture. Residents who require assistance are not getting that assistance on a regular basis. Care plans r…

CriticalThe lobby is lovely. Big deal!! The rooms are run down and dirty. A relative was there. I pulled out the AC filter and found it filthy. My family member was left to sleep during the day, missed meals, laundry mixed up. Case workers were late in calling back or did not return calls. So happy he was moved to a better facility.

PositiveWhat our family likes the most about the Amber Court of Westbury community is that fact that my sister feels comfortable being there. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.
