Ascension Living Casa Scalabrini Village review

The facility is pleasant and welcoming when you walk in the first time. Grounds around the facility are well kept and ample area to walk around, including nearby parks. Staff are nice although I notice some of them cater to residents they already know. A number of them are not very welcoming to new residents.

Husband really liked

We stayed for 10 days last November in the respite care suite. Folks were helpful and friendly, the food was good, and we were way more comfortable than we would have been in a hotel. The 4 is because the bathrooms aren't as handicapped accessible as I would have liked.

Change Isn’t Easy

The move in process was easy. We were not hounded at all. Our room pricing was more reasonable than any other place I viewed. I used the savings to provide additional services for Mom. She now gets her meds dispensed, bathing assistance, laundry and housekeeping. The food is good. The staff is friendly. l like the fact that there is Mass daily. The other residents anre neighborly in a good way. And the monthly bill with our additional services is still 30% lower than where we were. I could not be happier.

A warm and welcoming place to call home!

My husband and I live here and we are very happy. We were looking for a place that would feel like home, not an institution. The little touches mattered to us - the pretty lace curtains in the mail room, the carpeting throughout the building, and the beautiful paintings on the wall. We could tell that the staff truly cared about us and they wanted to help in any way they could ... We were no bother to them. Communication with all of the staff at Ascension Living Casa Scalabrini Village is easy, they are responsive. The facility is very clean, grounds are well maintained. Suggestions for improvement: more effort to get the residents to interact outside of meal time; should enhance workout, gym, physical exercise area; and wi-fi should be included. It's a nice facility overall, my family is happy with our choice. I would recommend Ascension Living Casa Scalabrini Village to others.

Wonderful Casa!

Our mom lived at Casa for six years until she needed more care than could be provided. She loved it! She had many friends and opportunities for a full life. The staff was kind and caring. The cost was so reasonable and her apartment was lovely. We have nothing but praise for her experience at Casa. We feel fortunate to have found such a great place for our mother!
