I'm in independent so I clean my own place. They put me in a 2 bedroom when I wanted a one but moved me when I insisted there were 3 widows looking at wall of building when I moved to a second place I have a porch and windows on 3 sides. The staff is mostly good my brother is in memory care. But they responded and did ok the bad thing is annual rent increase and no maintenance.

Rating of 5 for all categories except category 5. Dad isn't a fan of the meals/dining area but he was spoiled by my mom's home cooking. The staff appeared to go out of their way to help Dad through the difficult transition of leaving the home he lived in for over forty years. I can now confirm what many of my neighbors in the garden homes expressed to me as I got to know them many who have been here from 3-15 years . Many advised me that the executive director made them feel like garden home residents and their concerns were not important, and I must admit I had the same feeling after 2-3 garden homes town hall meetings, however that executive director has been replaced. The staff seems friendly and helpful. My mother is in an independent living unit so we don't need the help of the staff often, but they do seem nice. It would be great if they had more non-game activities.

Beech Grove Meadows and Garden Homes is slow to respond to maintenance issues. It took 3 months to fix a shower valve, missing backsplash and two weeks to get a trash collection can. Mom wants to look for another place to live. Turnover of helpers has been an on-going issue here. The maintenance crew it not good at following up or resolving problems. They lack basic skills. They over-promised and under-delivered which is common.
