The facility is new so still "working out the kinks". Everyone very nice and nurturing towards residents. Communication for medical emergencies and situations is great. Daily communication not as much.

The main reason that my stepfather ended up at Benchmark is that he has a number of friends in Pleasantville and wanted to stay as close to them as he could. Another thing that appealed though is the facility itself: it's very new and kept very clean, but in addition, it has quite a homey feeling, while other facilities are clearly trying to go for something fancier. The biggest draw backs are poor communication /follow up with family regarding client care in memory care. Some of the aids do not have a friendly demeanor and have an attitude. Food was just okay. They are not fully occupied and do not have the resources to have a good plan for clients who have high function. This show is still in previews! Not yet ready for opening night! In the 2 months that I am at Benchmark at Mount Pleasant I found that the care for my wife is very good, the health aides are knowledgeable and they take good care of my wife, changing when it's needed, cleaning, helping dressing and transfer from the bed to the wheelchair. The nurse and aide are doing a very good job managing and giving the medication. The managers have contacted the physical therapist that are coming twice a week and doing an excellent job that have helped my wife started walking again after 1 ye…
