Brookdale Alexandria

We liked it so much we have contracted to place my wife of 50 years into their "memory care" facility. Although it's a bit "pricey" it was far superior to the other five facilities we evaluated.

The memory unit reminded me of a mental institution I used to work at. In that unit, I only saw one staff passing out snacks but only one person was getting any. The two units they showed me had holes in the wall. The front part was nice staff was nice but carpet on the floor with my moms Parkinson’s would be a trip hazard.

They are a people oriented business. They work to make their residents feel they are important. I would certainly recommend Brookdale Alexandria to anyone who are dealing with a memory patient.

They are short staffed so it's a waiting game sometimes for my loved one and I am unsure about the value for cost. My loved one likes her living space, patio and staff. They could improve on food, for instance they only serve white bread. Also, they need to hire more staff.

Aftercare billing was not discussed. Nice spacious rooms and dining facility.

Value for the money is not even close. We are moving mom to Summerhouse by [date removed]. If you are still self-sufficient, then yes we would recommend this community to other families. If you need lots of care, definitely not.
