Brookdale Brookfield Assisted Living/Crossings

I am looking for an assisted living facility for a relative. Brookdale seems like a very nice place. It is a smaller facility with a lot of nice amenities. The people were friendly. The residents seem happy.

The residents I saw seemed engaged and alert to what was going on. Nobody looked in distress or like they were being ignored. The staff were very interactive with the residents. Everyone seemed happy and well cared for.

Good staff, small food portions, no real activities to keep residents busy rooms adequate, no real hierarchy i.e. someone who has control over everything for family to talk to, staff overworked at times and underpaid, but are pleasant and try hard.

Paid for Care but did not receive it.

My mother in law spent almost 4 months at Brookdale in Brookfield, WI on Woelfel Road in assisted living in the summer of 2025 to fall of 2025. She usually participates in daily chair exercises. There were several activities planned that were cancelled due to lack of staff. Many times, my mother in law did not know about the activities since she was not mobile and needed help with transporting to the activity. A very pleasant environment with positive care givers, observed. Clean, and dining room tables each had fresh flowers.

Costs are lower than other facilities, but some amenities are not as good such as meals, activities. Staff does care. Would recommend to others who have a budget. Facilities, rooms are nice, well maintained, just needs to give residents better food and more things to do.
