PositiveSome context for my comments: my mother moved in on [date removed]. On 5/5 she was hospitalized, then moved to hospice where she passed away on [date removed]. She was only at Brookdale just over a week. The staff were all very nice, very friendly. There was some confusion over my mother's need for shower assistance, but I think this would have been worked out if my mom had been there the second week. Also I'm having trouble sorting out the finances. It seems the local Brookdale never cashed the check my mom gave t…
★★★★★
CriticalNegative: Food is low quality—often too salty or overly sweet. Not enough staff to cook or help, especially in the dining room. Service can be slow and you never know how long you’ll wait to be served. Building also shows exterior wood rot from water damage. Positive: Some caring staff when available. Good location. Reasonable price. Nursing care is solid. Shuttle service is helpful. Wine and cheese events are a nice touch.

CriticalWe are 100% happier at Helping Hands. Not even close. I regret my time at Brookdale now that we've lived at Helping Hands for a couple of months.

PositiveMy father is a resident. The staff went out of their way to welcome him. They check on him regularly and he wears a call button which he can use to summon staff if needed. There are many different activities. They asked my father what he enjoyed doing and made sure he was accommodated. There are several common areas for socializing. I am very pleased with the care my father is receiving.
★★★★★
CriticalCall system is to a phone. They can only physically come to room. Sometimes taking 2 hours to respond. Dietary runs out of food. Dietary staff or cook does not show up, which happened multiple times when my dad was there. He passed by the way. Night staff not reliable to do their weekly weights.
Response from the communityWe take your comments seriously and are committed to providing quality care and services to our residents and their families. Our management team has reviewed these concerns and we wish to assure you the safety and well-being of our residents is our top priority.
